Motions & Nominations

Motion 01-24

Motion to adjust the Bylaws on Article 4 Section 1 Number 3 from “Voting on any bylaw amendments will be conducted. Proposals for such amendments must be made to the Board of Directors by December 1 and will be circulated to members with the notice of the annual meeting.” to “Voting on any bylaw amendments will be conducted. Proposals for such amendments must be made to the Board of Directors 60 days prior to the annual meeting date and will be circulated to members with the notice of the annual meeting.”

When the annual meeting dates were adjusted from being held in January/February to March/April this part of the bylaws was not adjusted.  Thus adjusting the bylaws to state 60 days prior to the annual meeting is more concurrent with the annual meeting date.

It is proposed this change to be made, and the new time frame to be stated in the new bylaws.

Motion 02-24

Motion: To add the addition of elbow radiographs to the NAPS breeding requirements.

It adds another layer of health and orthopedic support to the requirements.

If this motion passes, it would create an additional layer of protection for the breed by requiring NAPS breeders to utilize standardized radiography to ensure the dogs we produce are sound.

It is proposed that all dogs that currently are considered breedable with the current NAPS breeding requirements be grandfathered and exempt from this new requirement. Moving forward after the date this requirement is enacted, all future breeding dogs will need to comply.

The nominations as submitted are below; both nominees have accepted their nominations. Each position is uncontested, which means their nominations were the only ones, thus they will both start their positions in the Spring of 2024 during the timeframe of the 2024 Annual Meeting.
